Media: Rosaviatsiya called on not to fly on some airliners abroad

Rosaviatsia appealed to airlines with a recommendation not to operate flights abroad on aircraft of the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC). About it writes Interfax, citing a source in the aviation industry.

According to the interlocutor, the decision was made due to the risk of arrest of airliners of STLC subsidiaries abroad, which are undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. He noted that exceptions have been made for flights to Belarus and Turkey. The recommendation is valid from September 29 and “until a special decision” by the Federal Air Transport Agency.

RBC citing a source in a major Russian airline writes, that such a telegram, in particular, was received by S7. The carrier has a small fleet of aircraft without dual registration. The existence of the letter was confirmed by the publication’s interlocutors at two more Russian airlines. According to the source, today at 16:00 the Ministry of Transport will host a meeting at which the emerging risks will be discussed.

S7 representative reported Interfax, which is forced to delay flights to Bangkok (Thailand), Dubai (UAE), Urgench (Uzbekistan) pending permission from the Russian authorities. She clarified that until 00:00 Moscow time on September 30, flights from Irkutsk to Bangkok, from Novosibirsk to Dubai, and from Moscow to Urgench have been rescheduled. According to the agency’s interlocutor, passengers are provided with “all necessary services.”

In 2022 STLC fell under blocking sanctions from the US, UK and EU against the backdrop of the start of a Russian special operation in Ukraine. Since May 31, 2023, the Irish GTLK Europe DAC and GTLK Capital DAC have been in the process of liquidation by order of the Irish court.
