The Bolshoi Theater has canceled the premiere of director Alexander Molochnikov’s performances because of his criticism of Russia’s NWO in Ukraine. This is reported NEWS.ru.
We are talking about two productions: the operas “Francesca da Rimini” by Sergei Rachmaninoff and “The Florentine Tragedy” by Alexander von Zemlinsky.
“The previously planned participation of Molochnikov A.A. production of two one-act operas at the Bolshoi Theater in the 2022-2023 season has been canceled,” Vladimir Urin said in a statement. The general director of the Bolshoi Theater also added that director Molochnikov had never been in an employment relationship with the theater.
These productions were canceled after a request from a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, secretary of the working group to investigate anti-Russian activities in the field of culture, Dmitry Kuznetsov (the Just Russia – For Truth party). The parliamentarian demanded to suspend the contract with the director “until Molochnikov’s position on the special operation is clarified.”
