Former LVMH CEO and Chairman Michael Burke, who has been an adviser to French fashion house owner Bernard Arnault since February this year, may return to the company’s leadership role. According to the publication Miss Tweed citing several sources at LVMH, Mr. Burke is the main candidate for the position of CEO and chairman of the board of the LVMH Fashion Group division. In this case, he will swap positions with 71-year-old Sidney Toledano, who will become an adviser to Mr. Arno.
Michael Burke has been with LVMH since 1992 and has led Louis Vuitton for the last ten years. He was relieved of this post on 1 February as part of a massive permutations in the group guide.
The LVMH Fashion Group unites brands such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Celine and Kenzo.
Neither LVMH Group nor Mr. Burke himself commented on the information about the possible appointment.
