Chinese electronics manufacturers Tecno and Realme intend to open branded stores in Russia in 2024. writes “Kommersant”.
Tecno brand sales director Viktor Kolesnichenko told the newspaper that the company plans to open several pilot branded outlets in the first half of next year. According to him, such a step “will allow us to present the entire range, as well as demonstrate to customers the entire ecosystem.” He did not specify how many stores the company intends to open.
Market sources told the newspaper about Realme’s plans to open brand stores in Russia. The company’s interest was confirmed by Marvel Distribution; the manufacturer itself declined to comment. The opening of Realme stores in Marvel Distribution is being considered “from the point of view of additional marketing promotion.”
Another Chinese manufacturer Infinix has no plans to open brand stores in Russia in the near future, since the brand is only two years old. However, a representative of the vendor clarified that for the company “this is a matter of prospects for several years of development.”
At the end of the first half of the year, the average price for smartphones in Russia at retail increased to approximately 25,000 rubles. (by 32%), wrote Vedomosti with reference to data from the GS Group analytical center. First of all, prices increased for products from Apple, Samsung, Realme and Xiaomi. The head of GS Group, Alexander Surkov, noted that the Chinese brands Realme, Xiaomi, Infinix are gradually trying to fill the niche of outgoing Samsung models and are supplying smartphones in the “middle and high price segments” to the Russian market.
