Today, December 6, at an event for investors, fast food restaurant chain McDonald’s presented expansion plan for the coming years. By 2027, the company plans to open 10 thousand new outlets around the world – thus, their number will increase by 25%, to 50 thousand. This is the largest increase in the number of establishments in such a short period of time in the history of McDonald’s.

The company also announced its intention to increase the number of customers registered in the loyalty system and using it at least once every 90 days, from the current 150 million to 250 million. The company expects to increase annual sales revenue to members of the loyalty system from $20 billion to $45 billion.

McDonald’s plans to actively automate processes and implement artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, it agreed with the Google Cloud cloud service on a partnership in the use of AI technologies in its restaurants around the world.

McDonald’s revenue resumed growth after declining last year, growing 13.6% in the third quarter to $6.7 billion.
