Manufacturers and owners of drones will be able to apply for state subsidies

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed rules for the provision of state subsidies for manufacturers and operators of drones. They will be able to apply for at least three support measures: subsidizing the flight hour, compensation for part of the cost of the purchased drone, as well as preferential leasing. Aleksey Kukanov, Managing Director for Digital Assets of the State Transport Leasing Company, spoke about this at the session of the Vedomosti conference “Russian Electronics”. A representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed this information to Vedomosti.

Now Russian drones cannot compete with foreign counterparts in terms of cost, Kukanov noted. In order for services using drones to be economically attractive for operators and their final recipients, and for the market to form rapidly, the participation of the state in the form of state subsidies and other support tools is necessary, he continued. “Within the time frame set by the president, it will be simply unrealistic to launch this market without financial leverage,” the top manager explained.
