The American confectionery manufacturer Mondelez International (which owns the brands Alpen Gold, Oreo, Milka, Toblerone) will continue to operate in Russia, but will review its operating model. The company also does not intend to resume investment in new projects and advertising in the country.
“Currently, the company is changing its approach to the operating model in order to have greater independence of business processes and competencies in the country for the effective management of local business in the face of existing restrictions,” the press service of Mondelez told RIA Novosti.
Mondelez International has been operating in Russia since 1994. Since 2013, the company has been represented on the Russian market by its subsidiary Mon’delis Rus. There are three factories of the company in Russia: two – in the Vladimir region (produce Yubileinoye, Barney Bear, Alpen Gold chocolate, Vozdushny, Milka), one – in Veliky Novgorod (produces Dirol chewing gum and Halls lollipops).
Mondelez in March 2022 announced, which will curtail all capital investments in Russia and reduce advertising costs. In May 2023, the authorities of Ukraine made corporation to the list of international sponsors of the war. After that, several companies in Scandinavia announced Mondelez International boycott.
