The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov confirmed that the government will extend parallel imports to 2023. According to him, it is too early to talk about extending this measure after 2023.
Mr. Manturov specified that the composition of the list of goods for parallel imports will depend on what foreign companies will supply to the Russian market.
Denis Manturov believes that it is too early to talk about a possible extension of parallel imports to 2024 and beyond. “I would not make such predictions. Let’s proceed from the fact that we are still talking about an extension for 2023, and then how it will turn out, ”he told reporters at the Eastern Economic Forum (quote from Interfax).
Earlier on the decision to extend parallel imports to 2023 informed Minister of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov. In the summer, Denis Manturov also reported that a number of goods could be withdrawn from parallel imports after Russian manufacturers localize production.
