The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, said that Russia is interested in the supply of auto components from Uzbek manufacturers. The minister stated this at the 23rd meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation with Uzbekistan.
“We are also interested in the fact that Uzbek manufacturers of auto components come to our market – now a fairly favorable situation is developing for this,” said Mr. Manturov (quoted from TASS). He also appreciated the industrial cooperation between the two countries, mentioning Russian projects in Uzbekistan. Among them is the joint production of trucks and cars, recalled Denis Manturov.
Earlier, against the backdrop of a military operation, Western manufacturers began to leave the Russian car market. In April, Mr. Manturov announcedthat foreign components can be replaced by supplies from China. In the summer, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed allow legal entities to import cars under parallel import schemes.
