In a message from the Federal Air Transport Agency Telegram it is said that the NOTAM (notice to flight crew) has been adjusted due to the stabilization of the situation. “The period of temporary closure of Makhachkala airport for the reception of aircraft will continue tentatively until 02:59 (Moscow time) on October 31, 2023,” the Federal Air Transport Agency said in a statement.
The department noted that the airport will be opened only after a thorough check by law enforcement agencies of the airport terminal, airfield and surrounding area.
Several thousand people gathered near Makhachkala airport on the evening of Sunday, October 29, they protested against the landing of a plane from Tel Aviv. Some of the participants burst in to the airport. In encounters with the police suffered more than 20 people. Actions of the protesters criticized the head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov, the Mufti of Dagestan, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, the Russian Jewish Congress and many others.
