The Magnit retail chain entered into an agreement with the Far East Nevada company to purchase 33.01% of the Samberi retailer owned by it. As part of the deal, Magnit will also receive an option to buy out the remaining share of the retail chain within five years, the company’s press service reports.
Magnit reported that they plan to close the deal in the summer of 2024. Whose share is being bought by Magnit and the transaction amount is not disclosed in the retail chain. The transaction will be carried out after receiving permission from the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
The Samberi chain was founded in 1994. Samberi includes 291 stores – 31 hypermarkets, 42 supermarkets, 82 Raz Dva mini-markets and 136 Blizky discounters. The retail chain stores are represented in the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Amur Region.
According to RBC, Samberi’s forecast turnover for 2023 is 100 billion rubles. The publication’s interlocutor said that the main owners of the network are entrepreneurs Yuri Egorov (owned 43.7%), Marina Merkulova (29.45%), Sergei Bulygin (21.85%) and Lev Volkov (5%).
