President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko instructed to restore the rights of citizens affected by violations of the law, which were allowed by the Russian online store Wildberries, declared TV channel STV Chairman of the State Control Committee (SCC) of the Republic Vasily Gerasimov.

“The information reached the head of state. The President reacted very harshly to this and instructed to restore all the legal rights of citizens as soon as possible. As a result, within two days the money was returned to all citizens, as well as this rule was canceled. In addition, the State Control Committee exercises control over other Internet sites,” Gerasimov said.

December 13, 2022 BelTA agency with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) of Belarus reportedthat Wildberries again began to charge buyers for the return of goods – in September, the regulator already sent an order to the site to stop a similar violation. January 16, 2023 agency reportedthat from January 14, Wildberries stopped charging fees for the return, and also undertook to return all previously debited funds by January 17.

January 20 Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Alexei Bogdanov toldthat Wildberries did not eliminate the violations within the deadlines set by MART, in connection with which, on January 17, the court of the Frunzensky district of Minsk imposed fines on the site. “We contacted the founders of the company in the Russian Federation, explained our approaches to them and agreed that we would develop our relations without violating Belarusian law,” Bogdanov said.
