In Almaty, workers dismantled the McDonald’s logo from a chain restaurant in the city center, reports “RIA News”. According to the agency, a team of workers went to remove the identity from other McDonald`s establishments, which were managed by Food Solutions KZ LLP.
An employee of one of the closed establishments told the agency that in January it could start accepting visitors again. He clarified that the restaurant could start operating “in no name mode, like in Belarus” – that is, without using McDonald`s corporate symbols.
Yesterday, January 5, the press service of the American network informed about the departure of McDonald`s from Kazakhstan against the backdrop of reduced supplies. She has been working in the country since 2016, the establishments were managed by a local company Food Solutions KZ LLP. In March, the owner of a McDonald’s franchise in Kazakhstan, Kairat Boranbaev, was detained on charges of embezzlement.
January 4 Bloomberg reportedthat the company’s departure from Kazakhstan is connected with the cessation of meat supplies from Russia against the backdrop of hostilities in Ukraine. Kazakh establishments will operate under a new name.
