Liquefied natural gas (LNG) producers will commission new liquefaction capacities of more than 100 million tons per year by 2026, according to the annual review of the International LNG Importers Group (GIIGNL). The total capacity of LNG plants will increase by 21% to more than 576.5 million tons per year.
In 2022, liquefaction lines were launched with a total volume of 14.9 million tons per year. The total capacity of LNG plants in the world increased by 3% to 476.5 million tons per year. The total supply of LNG in 2022 in the world increased by 4.5% to 389.2 million tons, according to the GIIGNL report.
