Lithium prices have halved since the beginning of the year

Exchange prices for lithium have fallen by more than a third since the beginning of April, according to data from the London Metal Exchange (LME). On April 20, futures for lithium hydroxide (LiOH) with delivery to China, Japan and South Korea cost $41,300/t, which is 3.7% less than the day before and 33.4% less than at the beginning of the month.
Lithium prices have been steadily declining since January 2023. In December 2022, this metal was worth $85,000/t, in January of this year the price was $83,800/t. In April last year, the price of LiOH on the exchange reached $86,600/t.
