Literary historian and literary critic Andrei Nemzer died at the age of 67, reported literary critic Alexander Arkhangelsky.

Over the years, Nemzer headed the criticism department of the Literary Review magazine, worked as a columnist for the Segodnya newspaper, and taught at the Higher School of Economics.

Nemzer is the author of books devoted to Russian literature from the beginning of the 19th to the beginning of the 21st century. He wrote the books “The Red Wheel of Alexander Solzhenitsyn: A Reading Experience” and “In the Light of Zhukovsky: Essays on the History of Russian Literature.”

In 2015, Nemzer was awarded the Russian Government Prize in the field of culture.
