The Listvyazhnaya mine in Kuzbass resumed mining operations after an accident in November 2021. According to the press service of Listvyazhnaya Mine LLC (part of the SDS-Ugol holding), the company has begun driving conveyor roadway 825, which is necessary for the commissioning of a new longwall 824.
A positive conclusion on the technical project for the development of the deposit was issued by the central commission of Rosnedra for the development of deposits of solid minerals to the mine in November 2022. In addition, Listvyazhnaya received positive industrial safety expert opinions last year on projects for degassing the mine, air-gas control, a multifunctional security system, integrated dedusting and dust explosion protection of the mine, etc., the press service specified.
In December last year, a plan for the development of mining operations at Listvyazhnoy for 2023 was agreed. In March 2023, on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak, a comprehensive survey of the mine was carried out with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Rostekhnadzor, Rosprirodnadzor and other departments, as well as the administration of the regional government, Rosugleprof and the Kemerovo interdistrict prosecutor’s office to oversee the implementation of laws in coal mining industry.
In the final protocol, the interdepartmental commission noted the compliance of the actual state of mine workings and workplaces of the Listvyazhnaya mine with the requirements of industrial safety and labor protection, confirmed the readiness of the enterprise to conduct preparatory work for mine workings, localize the accident and eliminate its consequences.
The accident at Listvyazhnaya took place on November 25, 2021, killing 46 miners, and then 5 mine rescuers during the rescue operation. After the accident, the heads of the mine and JSC Holding Company SDS-Coal were arrested on various criminal charges.
