LLC “Lindt und Sprüngli (Russia)” has begun the process of liquidation, follows from the entry in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The Swiss manufacturer of premium chocolate Lindt & Spruengli Group announced its withdrawal from the Russian market in mid-August 2022. 9 of the company’s stores have been closed since March last year, at the same time deliveries to retail chains were stopped.
According to SPARK-Interfax, the revenue of OOO Lindt und Sprüngli (Russia) in 2021 amounted to 3.1 billion rubles. (an increase of 16% compared to the figure for 2020), net profit – 99.6 million rubles. (a year earlier, the company received a net loss of 61 million rubles). According to the preliminary financial results of Lindt & Spruengli AG, in 2022 the company showed strong growth in total revenue (+10.8%) to 4.97 billion Swiss francs (about 393.5 billion rubles).
The group attributes its success to the easing of anti-COVID measures, an increase in its own online sales and the resumption of social contacts, thanks to which the company’s “gift” brands, such as Lindor, have shown strong growth. In 2023, the company expects sales growth of 6-8% (due to inflationary expectations). The company has been on the market for 175 years. Lindt & Sprüngli manufactures products in 12 factories in Europe and the USA and sells them through 32 subsidiaries in various countries, incl. through 500 own stores and about 100 distributors.
