“Let Them Talk” was resurrected for the sake of Vanga’s predictions

The talk show “Let Them Talk” has recently existed in the format of special editions on a serious matter. The role of the latter was recently played by Vanga’s prophecy, which they promised to reveal in all details. And something came of it.

When it comes to magic, shows about psychics are, of course, ahead of everyone else. There they have long abandoned all decency and are having fun from the heart. The producers of “Let Them Talk” apparently cannot afford to wave black candles riddled with needles and bring snakes into the studio, so the episode about Vanga’s prophecy turned into a more or less respectable talk show, where they tried to place magic in both secular and into a scientific context.

In the end there was a little bit of everything. Thoughtful speeches from a mathematician, political scientist, psychologist, several stellar stories about predictions that came true, the wide-open eyes of Anastasia Volochkova and the main character – Sergei Kostornoy, a gentleman known as Vanga’s godfather. On the whole, we had a good time, cursed within the bounds of decency, and even interrupted each other without frenzy, so that many thoughts were completed, and this is very rare for a talk show.

Lately, prime-time battles have been fought over other, not exactly secular events, but anything that can at least somehow shed light on the near future still brings in ratings. Therefore, even scientists became slightly quiet when Dmitry Borisov announced Vanga’s forecast for the coming year. The fortuneteller’s godfather put on a serious face and said something about sweet Easter cakes (apparently they were talking about good news), about an infectious fungus from Southeast Asia that could cause a new pandemic. But overall, life will be more fun, the rich will become poorer, and the poor will become richer.

After a short pause, the godfather hastily, as if he had forgotten the most important thing, added the maxim that chaos awaits Europe and America, and a cleansing wave is coming from Russia. That’s what immediately made me feel better. Apparently, this was a prediction for which it was necessary to resurrect the retired television format. Well, and Volochkova on the main guest sofa. Everything is like in the best of times.

TO WHOM “CARTIER”, TO WHOM POTATOES

The battle for inheritance has become one of the favorite plots for local screenwriters. Probably, there really is room to roam here, and besides, you can take liberties with genres.

Vladimir Afanasyev and Ekaterina Stulova.

Most recently, the series “Inheritance” was broadcast, in which the cutting up of the business of an unexpectedly deceased oligarch was turned into a drama about fallen morals. “The poor laugh, the rich cry” is about the same thing, but in the form of a comedy.

The father of a large family is going to another world and in the month allotted by the doctors, he wants to unite the family and somehow resolve the issue of inheritance. Children and ex-wives flock to the light like kites, intending to grab their piece. But there is another storyline. A girl hiding from bandits comes to work as a maid in the rich house of a dying millionaire. As it turns out, passions are also in full swing in the world of servants, and sometimes the rich and the poor find themselves closer to each other than they should be.

All this probably looks promising, especially considering that in addition to the actors of average fame in the frame, Alena Khmelnitskaya, Anna Snatkina, Alexander Samoilenko. But if in dramas both actors and screenwriters seem to be trying to jump over their heads, then comedies often resemble a collection of not very new jokes, which are also told rather lazily.

But what’s really funny is the comedic interpretation of the world of the rich and their servants. The former always grin languidly, the latter laugh hysterically and blink their eyes. Jokes about butts are included, and the Birkin bag becomes an indispensable participant in the events. There is a suspicion that the inhabitants of Rublev’s houses and their servants will laugh the most at this presentation of events. They will definitely appreciate the quality of the caricature.

By the way, another comedy about inheritance and heirs is coming. Suddenly the jokes there will be different.
