Lenta will not pay dividends for 2022 – Kommersant

Shareholders of the Lenta retailer at the annual general meeting decided not to pay dividends for 2022. This is stated in message companies on decisions of general meetings of shareholders.
Lenta has never paid dividends, although the company had an intention to start paying out. At the end of 2021, the company allowed the start of payments in 2022. But in June 2022, the retailer’s shareholders made a similar decision to withhold dividends for 2021.
Lenta is one of the leading Russian retailers and the largest hypermarket chain in Russia. As of March 2023, the company operated 259 hypermarkets, 568 supermarkets and Mini Tape stores. The company’s stores are distributed in more than 200 settlements in Russia.
Refusal to pay dividends has become common for various Russian companies. Previously, many other companies refused to distribute profits and pay dividends, including Gazprom, Polyus, Rusal, Norilsk Nickel, Interros, Mechel and others.
