“Lenkom” explained the cancellation of the tour in Israel “the hysteria of Ukrainian patriots”

The Lenkom Drama Theater issued an open letter in which it explained the cancellation of the tour in Israel by “hysteria that captured an uncontrolled group of Ukrainian patriots” and “the lack of a clear position on the part of the host.” Tour organizers before spokethat they are being postponed because of the protests of Russian-speaking Israelis.

“Lenkom Mark Zakharov and its employees were subjected to a flurry of slop verbiage of a low sort, interspersed with threats of a “small-town communal kitchen”. Unfortunately, we have not received any clear position from the state theater and the Israeli authorities, as well as security guarantees,” the theater said in a letter published in “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.

The tour with the performance “Memorial Prayer” was supposed to take place in October. At the end of August, a collection was announced in Israel signatures under the call to cancel the Lenkom tour, as its management and actors supported the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. By August 28, when it became known about the cancellation of the tour, about 8 thousand people signed the petition.

Gadi Oron, the producer of the Israeli Habima Theater and the organizer of the Lenkom tour, said that the leadership does not want to stir up even more controversy among the Israeli public. In this regard, he explained, the tour is postponed indefinitely.
