Leak in “Renaissance Insurance” could affect up to 2% of the client base

The Renaissance Insurance company reported a hacker attack on the site. She does not yet confirm the “leakage of a significant amount of user data”, which reported earlier, but “the problem could affect no more than 2% of the customer base.”
Hackers tried to hack the eOSAGO service on the company’s website. “In contrast to the massive DDoS attacks using bots that the financial sector has been exposed to over the past year and is already able to successfully resist, for the first time we have encountered a targeted attack by skilled hackers,” the Renaissance Insurance press service said.
Hackers were able to compromise the login page for the personal account of this section of the site. “But the company is currently unable to confirm the leakage of a significant amount of user data. Potentially, the problem could affect no more than 2% of the company’s customer base.
“Renaissance Insurance” is confident that hackers failed to gain access to passwords, payment and passport data of customers. Other sections of the site were not attacked. It is noted that there is no need for customers to change passwords for accessing the eOSAGO personal account, because this data has not been compromised.
According to DLBI, a file containing the contents of a computer memory or the Renaissance Insurance database has been made public. The file is dated May 31, 2023, it contains information starting from February 2015, the table of registered users consists of 737.7 thousand lines.
