From March 8, the Kion service will continue the comic misadventures from the world of transplantation – the second season of the hit “Kidney”. The bribe-taker in the star performance of Lyubov Aksenova returns to Russia to solve another medical problem – to arrange a kidney transplant for another.
Natasha Kustova, a former fire inspector, a chic queen of gopnitsy, a lady of great virtues and exorbitant shortcomings (she is one of those who enter a burning hut, stop a galloping horse, and then pull out a wallet from someone else’s pocket), basking on a Croatian beach in a snow-white swimsuit , and in the evenings she dances in a sparkling dress at the local resort disco. Life seemed to be successful, last year Natakha defeated everyone – a fresh surgical scar does not let you forget that quite recently she was transplanted with a donor kidney, for which the heroine of Lyubov Aksenova was so chasing last season, while for ten episodes she was thrown by everyone Who is not lazy: either a cowardly husband, or insensitive relatives, or an insidious boss, or some kind of underground organ dealers. Traditional values and the state are of little help when life hangs by a thread.
Thank heavens, a donor was found – an intelligent mother of one principled picky, a dialysis neighbor who plays in a symphony orchestra on a triangle. After watching the predator’s desperate struggle for her own vitality, she made Natasha promise to find an appropriate organ for her son in exchange for her kidney. And now Kustova is fine, percussionist Misha is in distant Moscow on dialysis, but his heart is groaning: both at night and in broad daylight, Natasha is visited by visions of an extremely frank nature – an unknown firefighter love for another reigns in them. The heroine is confused – this has never happened before, and the pills from the psychiatrist are powerless.
The continuation of the “Kidney”, which so successfully brightened up the January holidays of 2022, of course, suggested itself – everything was prepared for it in advance according to all the rules of serial production science: the first ten episodes, on the one hand, ended with the heroine’s victory over circumstances, and on the other, with a fat cliffhanger : will Kustova fulfill her solemn oath given to a strange mother? In the very first episode of the new season, she takes on the job as if against her will, but with her characteristic, pleasing to the eye of the audience determination. Without thinking twice, she returns to dangerous Moscow (there, a criminal case has been opened against her, a bribe-taker and corrupt official), leads a marafet and comes to the hospital to extort a waiting list for a transplant from her transplantologist, in which Misha is listed as 72nd, and sits down at the phone to solve a problem. The point is small – you need to put together a group of those in need, find donors and send everyone to Croatia for a commercial transplant in order to move your beloved Misha forward one by one.
The main features that distinguished The Kidney from other comic series that describe Russian social realities with varying degrees of certainty were its pace (the density of events in short, feverishly overlapped 25-minute episodes was phenomenal) and the immoral trickster heroine . The role of a dream for Lyubov Aksenova, pure fire: self-centered, sensual, cynical, at every disco annealing like the last time, she was ready to take everything from life without experiencing the slightest pangs of conscience (although she really needed only a kidney). But, as it should be according to the rules of dramatic science, the hero wants one thing, but gets what he really needs. By donating a kidney, the authors doomed Kustova to heartache. I wonder what she will receive as a gift when she achieves reciprocity from the chosen one? Maybe, following Kustova’s love, she will discover some other superpower for herself?
Considering that the re-education of Catwoman is carried out by the authors Maria Shulgina and Elizaveta Tikhonova, who came out from under the wing of Anna Parmas and Avdotya Smirnova, and the Look Film company is engaged in production, any outcome can be expected. All participants in the project got their hands on stories about, as they say, ambiguous heroes. One of the central ideas of the “Kidney” is that only those who are far from being an angel can survive, act and go towards the victory of at least relative good in a world where total injustice reigns. Such a hero will not be very surprised when he gets hit on the nose by the world, and he is also more tolerant of the shortcomings of other characters. No matter how fantastic the adventures and rebirth of the demonic Kustova may look, this main truth makes The Kidney extremely reliable even in the spring of 2023, when both society and the country have been living in such an emergency mode for more than a year that makes you forget about the most essential problems, including the problem of transplantation.
