Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov took to the ice for the first time after amputation of his feet. This happened after the performance of his wife Oksana Domnina at the gala show of Ilya Averbukh “Letters of Love” in Sochi.

After the number, Roman Kostomarov in sneakers approached his wife, hugged her, after which they left the ice together. The audience rose from their seats and followed the couple with applause.

In early July, Roman Kostomarov was discharged from the hospital, where he spent 175 days. In January, the man was hospitalized with a severe form of pneumonia. The skater developed sepsis. Doctors amputated the athlete’s knee-deep legs and fingers of both hands.
