Kontur.Market: the average check for going to a restaurant in Russia increased by 11% in the first quarter

According to the results of the first quarter, the average check for going to a restaurant in Russia amounted to 625 to 639 rubles, which is 11% more compared to the same period in 2022, RIA Novosti reports, citing a study by Kontur.Market. According to him, in Moscow the average check decreased by 1%, to 933 rubles, in St. Petersburg – by 3%, to 946 rubles. In the Sverdlovsk region, the average bill increased by 3%, to 660 rubles.

As the study showed, revenue from catering establishments for the reporting period increased by 7%, to 55.173 billion rubles. Most of the proceeds were received by establishments in Moscow, the Moscow and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as St. Petersburg and the Krasnodar Territory. In particular, Moscow establishments earned 13.075 billion rubles, which is almost three times more than other regions that were in the top 5 in terms of revenue.

According to Kontur.Focus, in January-March, 5.2 thousand organizations stopped working on the catering market throughout Russia, which is a third less than a year. The service believes that since the beginning of this year, the dynamics of closures of catering enterprises has decreased due to the desire of businessmen to wait for a simplified procedure for the liquidation of legal entities.
