Kommersant: Sinara can take the place of Siemens in the construction of high-speed lines Moscow-Petersburg

The Sinara Group may become the concessionaire of the main section of the Moscow-Petersburg high-speed line (HSR), replacing the one that left Russia Siemens. About it informs “Kommersant” with reference to the studied documents Russian Railways.
According to the newspaper, a package of documents for filing an application with the government is already ready. Now Russian Railways, together with Sinara, is working on an organizational and legal model for the interaction of participants in the concession, we are talking about “the distribution of the financial burden and arising obligations.”
It is assumed that the Kryukovo-Obukhovo section with a length of 624.2 km will be given into concession. Its cost is estimated at 1.66 trillion rubles. The publication specifies that the entrances to Moscow and St. Petersburg will be built at the expense of Russian Railways and the budget.
Kommersant notes that it was initially expected that Siemens would become a partner in the construction of high-speed lines, but in May 2022 the company left Russia. The German company had a joint production with Sinara – Ural Locomotives, which, among other things, assembled Lastochka.
In addition, in 2020 Siemens, “Ural Locomotives” and “Sinara” agreed to create a train for high-speed lines. In 2021 development contract signed Russian Railways and Siemens. The head of the board of directors of Sinara-Transport Machines, Alexander Misharin, said that Ural Locomotives will produce a train with a speed of 400 km/h by 2028.
Design high-speed lines to St. Petersburg in the spring of 2019 instructed Russian President Vladimir Putin. The construction project was agreed in 2021, it involves reducing travel time between cities to 2 hours and 15 minutes. In December 2021, the Ministry of Transport estimated the cost of building high-speed lines at 1.39 trillion rubles. Finish construction planned in 2027
