“Rosptitsesoyuz” asked to amend the law allowing the breeding of birds for personal needs in the garden and garden plots. About it informs Kommersant, citing sources.
According to the interlocutors, this issue was raised at a meeting in Rosselkhoznadzor on September 2. Rosptitsesoyuz argues that keeping poultry can lead to the spread of bird flu, as well as the virus entering enterprises and, as a result, reducing production.
The head of the union, Galina Bobyleva, confirmed the initiative to amend the law, but did not specify what specific changes were in question. The department noted that the meeting was indeed held, but its details were not disclosed.
A source to the newspaper among the producers pointed out that domestic birds have more contact with wild animals. Moreover, their feed is not tested, and the origin of the livestock is often not confirmed.
Anatoly Velmatov, executive director of the National Association of Turkey Producers (NAPI), also sees shortcomings in the adopted law. In his opinion, doctors cannot get to all summer cottages in order to check compliance with the rules for breeding poultry.
On July 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which owners of summer cottages and garden plots can breed birds. It is noted that at the same time, all sanitary and epidemiological standards must be observed, and meat and eggs can only be consumed by oneself. As planned, the law should help curb the rise in prices for these products.
