From May 1, the National Payment Card System (NSPK) will reduce the interbank commission rate for marketplaces to 0.5%. About it informs “Kommersant”.

According to a newspaper source in the payment market, the new commission is being introduced under the Wildberries discount program when paying through the Fast Payment System (FPS). According to him, the “original move” is the promotion of the SBP at the expense of Mir card issuers.

In October 2020, Wildberries introduced a 5% discount when paying via SBP and a 3% discount when paying with a Mir card. According to the bankers, the action led to a multiple increase in payments through the SBP. Kommersant noticed that the 5% discount is no longer valid on the marketplace, and the 3% discount ends on May 1. The newspaper concluded that the reduced NSPK commission should motivate the company to extend the action.

The Wildberries press service declined to comment on plans to introduce NSP-related programs from May 1. The representative of the marketplace noted that due to the reduced interbank commission, the company can invest more funds in its loyalty program. We are talking about a discount for a regular customer on almost any product, Wildberries explained.

Ozon reported that they also participate in NSPK affiliate programs.
