Kommersant learned about plans to purchase ships for export and import for 150 billion rubles

The program of state subsidies for the purchase of a fleet for foreign trade operations can be extended in the next 11 years to 85 ships, the total cost of which is 150 billion rubles. About it informed Kommersant, citing sources.

According to the project, banks can allocate over 150 billion rubles for these purposes, of which the government subsidizes about 70 billion rubles. According to various data, from 24.3 to 35 billion rubles can be allocated for this program in the next two years.

It is specified that the state subsidies program will affect ships of various types and sizes, including used and under construction. At the same time, it is assumed that these will mainly be bulk carriers – bulk carriers transporting goods in bulk, it is planned to purchase 60 of them, including 12 Capesize 290 m long.

In addition, 7-9 container ships and 7 multi-purpose ships also apply for subsidies. At the same time, one of the sources claims that oil tankers do not fall under this program. According to another interlocutor, the program provides for the purchase of tankers for the transport of unspecified types of cargo.

The ship support program involves subsidizing loan rates for banks that will finance the purchase and charter of ships to service Russian export-import flows. We are talking about loans at a rate of 4%. It is clarified that, according to the latest data, one can count on a subsidy if the volume of cargo transported within the framework of foreign trade economic activity is not less than 50% of the total volume of cargo transported in the reporting period.
