The newspaper, referring to data from Rospatent, reports that Panclub JSC, which is responsible for the development of the network in Russia, applied for registration of a trademark with this name in March 2023. Mikhail Burmistrov, General Director of Infoline-Analytics, noted that the company’s transition to a multi-brand format is “the only way out in this situation.” According to him, in the first six months of 2022, the network’s sales fell by 41.6%, to 1.7 billion rubles, and its share in the Russian market decreased from 2% to 1.1%.
JSC “Panclub” is the official distributor of Pandora in the Russian market. Since 2015, the company has been owned by Sberbank, but in 2019 the bank announced plans to sell Panklub.
The company faced difficulties after the refusal of the Danish brand Pandora to cooperate with Russia against the backdrop of the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine. Kommersant found out in the materials of the court, where the distributor was litigating with the operator of Enka TC shopping centers due to rental payments, that due to the suspension of deliveries of Pandora products to Russia, Panclub faced a shortage of goods. Today, about 75 Pandora stores operate in 30 cities of Russia, according to the data on the company’s website.
