“Kommersant” announced a rise in the price of household appliances due to the weakening of the ruble

Manufacturers of household appliances and electronics have raised prices for their goods for the second time since the beginning of the year, Kommersant reported, citing letters from companies to distributors. It is specified that this is happening against the background of the weakening of the ruble.

According to the newspaper, retailers announce a 10-15% increase in the purchase price of products for some brands, in particular Archelik (Beko, Grundig, Indesit), the SEB-Vostok group (Tefal, Moulinex, Rowenta), etc. In addition, cost increase is considered at Schaub Lorenz. The company noted that it is necessary to “accurately calculate the growth of the exchange rate and determine how much the price will rise.”

The ruble began to depreciate since the beginning of last week, after an attempted armed rebellion in Russia. On Monday, June 26, the dollar rose above 87 rubles, the euro – above 95 rubles. By the end of the week, the dollar reached 89 rubles, the euro – 97 rubles. Already today, the dollar has exceeded 92 rubles, and the euro has reached 100 rubles.

mid-April newspaper wrote on the increase in prices for large household appliances in Russia. Then an increase of 8-10% was reported, also against the backdrop of a weakening ruble. It was noted that the increase in prices was recorded for goods that are imported into the country not only through parallel imports, but also directly from the manufacturer. In particular, the Chinese Hisense and Midea warned retailers about the rise in prices for equipment by 4-8%.
