“Kitchen in the area” announced the launch of a network of vending machines with ready meals

The food preparation and delivery service “Kitchen in the District” launched its first offline project “Kholodos” – a network of vending machines with ready-made home-cooked food prepared by the company, the company’s press service said.

“Buying and choosing takes less than a minute, and the assortment can cover any meal, including a snack. Next year, we plan to supplement the shelves with our drinks in the private label and co-branding format,” the company said.

Now the assortment includes 140 items, the number of which will grow next year. The company has so far installed ten vending machines in the offices of major Moscow companies.

Earlier, the general director of “Kitchen” Anton Lozin told in interview Forbes, that going offline for the company is one of the ways to increase turnover, which in September 2022 amounted to 300 million rubles, and the loss was halved compared to the level of December 2021. To reach profit, the service needs to approximately double the first indicator, he noted then.

The Kitchen in the District service was launched in 2018 by Rocketbank co-founders Oleg Kozyrev, Alexey Kolesnikov, Anton Lozin and Kirill Rodin. In September 2020, a joint venture between Sberbank and VK (the former Mail.ru Group), O2O Holding, became the owner of an 80.19% stake in Kitchen on the District. The remaining share was retained by the founders of the service. Later, the share of the joint venture increased to 85%. At the end of October 2021, Oleg Kozyrev announced his departure from the project, Kolesnikov and Rodin also left the project, but all remained shareholders.
