In the first half of December, pop music is traditionally covered with snow and sadness, because when can you be sad from the cold, if not now? Very soon everyone will be dancing around the Christmas tree, and, of course, there will be no time for longing for love, sprinkled with the melancholy of separation. “ZD” dug into the snowdrifts of sadness that covered the pop music this week, and found in them Philip Kirkorov, Olga Seryabkina, tAISh and Olga Arefieva.

Olga Seryabkina in the track “Let’s start all over again” demonstrates global personal evolution. If a year ago, in her New Year’s singles, she made a wish for Grandfather Frost – more money and a luxury car, now she is only interested in love, when “you are nearby, and you don’t need anything else.” However, the public expects something more cynical from the former lead singer of the group Serebro. Olga writes her songs herself; they are united by the author’s ironic view of life and, of course, relations between the sexes. Usually in her work there is a slight smile of an adult girl who has already seen a lot in life, knows a lot and cannot be fooled so easily. This year Olga released two “funny” video clips: for “Lonely” and “I haven’t forgotten.” The singer invited star men into the frame to make fun of male incompetence, due to which she received additional views and auditions. Old and new stars acted as the singer’s supposed beaus in the videos: Alexey Vorobyov, Vladimir Selivanov, Vanya Dmitrienko, Roman Kagramanov, Konstantin Sidorkov, Timur Batrudinov. However, the new track turned out to be completely devoid of irony (as, indeed, she promised), sincere, warm and safe for men. The New Year’s song sounds like a real wish from the depths of the heart.

Rock artist Olga Arefieva, founder of the post-grunge group “Kovcheg”, continues to lighten the usual heavy sound of her group and add ethnic notes to it. The single “Kaliyagoda” is interesting not just to listen to, but to listen to and savor, like a real multi-level art rock for gourmets. The bold grunge wall of sound is complemented by ethnomotives and text about the fiery Smorodina River and the Kalinov Bridge across it, which connects the world of the living and the world of the dead in Russian folk epics and fairy tales.

This year, “Ark” released its first album in five years, “Amona Fe.” It is filled with voluminous spiritual and cultural images that go back centuries. Ethnic and modern sound, sound wave and texts connect the past, present and future. In general, the result was a bright artistic ethno-rock with a balalaika and fabulous lace around.

tAISh.

Singer tAISh released the single “From January (into your arms),” which can also be considered a New Year’s wish to herself. And if Seryabkina starts all over again in her track, then tAISh swears to herself – I wonder at what time in life? It turned out to be a cheerful action movie about how a girl does a spring cleaning of her thoughts and feelings, which fell asleep, swirled and surrounded her like a Moscow blizzard. The artist is seriously passionate about music and loves rock sounds, so she occupies a quite advantageous position in the middle niche between pop and hard alternative.

LOBODA.

Singer Svetlana Loboda appeared in the general chorus of sad female songs at a medium tempo, supporting the trend with the single and video “Metelitsa”. The singer in a transparent lace dress and with the stamp of deepest sadness on her face sings about how she wants to return to her past relationship and start all over again, but “he” has not changed at all, and this only causes her suffering. Throughout the entire clip, the artist remains in the conditional vacuum of the conditional emptiness of the studio, with completed horizontal and vertical rays of light bursting into the cracks between the sliding walls. All this is generously smoked and sprinkled with artificial snow, and in the text you can catch an advertisement for a taxi company, which cannot but make you smile.

Oddly enough, the female choir is diluted by the presence of gray-haired Philip Kirkorov. He almost misled everyone by releasing the single “Fly, Fly” – the name quite logically suggested that the artist covered Alla Pugacheva’s masterpiece “Tell Me, Birds.” But no, this is a new song with a strong hint of the old one. Birds are also present here, but if in Pugacheva’s song they were supposed to tell all people about how fragile our planet is and how it can suffer, then Kirkorov asks the white birds to sweep away all sorrows so that people forget their quarrels and can love each other again. A completely timely message, given the nervous and full of suffering and longing for love songs of the beautiful colleagues of the King of Pop.
