Khusnullin warned about the lack of a reserve of free sites for construction

The Russian construction industry has reached an unprecedented volume of commissioning of residential space, but the reserve of free sites has already been exhausted, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Now we are actively developing a housing construction program, we have reached unprecedented commissioning volumes, but we need to clearly understand that there is no longer a reserve of free sites,” leads his words to RIA Novosti.

Khusnullin at the same time drew attention to the presence of huge areas inside the settlements, which are not used and are often in a cluttered state. On unused lands it is necessary to create jobs, housing or improvement facilities, he added.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the potential of new construction in the territories already selected for integrated development projects amounted to 47 million square meters. m.

In early April, Khusnullin instructed Rosreestr to strengthen control over the identification of currently unused land and property. According to him, in 2022 the amount of unused land was at the level of 100,000 hectares. The regions, under the leadership of the Ministry of Construction, should prepare urban planning documentation for these lands, Khusnullin said. In addition, he continued, 108 unused buildings were identified in Moscow alone, the area of ​​​​which varies from 500 to 8000 square meters. m.

Earlier in January, Vladimir Koshelev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Public Utilities informedthat there is a shortage of about 5 million workers in the construction sector in Russia.
