The famous satirist and actor Gennady Khazanov, performing on the stage of the Satire Theater on the day of farewell to Alexander Shirvindt, was able to brilliantly combine grief and humor.

“I seem to hear Shura’s words: “Gen, make it shorter and less pretentious,” Khazanov said as soon as he came to the microphone.

“Shirvindt loved April 1 very much; he considered this day the main holiday.

One day he announced a lottery for April Fools’ Day. The winner (from the audience), whose number was taken out of the drum, was given a huge sack. And then even wrapping paper was in short supply. And so the winner opened this sack, and there…was his coat,” Khazanov said.

“I will remember this prank for the rest of my life,” the artist assured with tears.

During the last conversation, according to Khazanov, Shirvindt told him: “Genka, the telephone book has become meaningless, there is no one.”

“I noticed that I washed all the phones after the death of my friends. But I’m not going to erase Shura’s name,” Gennady Khazanov summed up what was said.
