Khabensky explained why he stopped acting in films

At a press conference in honor of the 125th anniversary of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, the famous actor and artistic director of the theater Konstantin Khabensky answered the question why he has not acted in films for so long. Khabensky explained the absence of his name in the credits of his films by simply being busy. And he promised to return to moviegoers in 2024:
– I just don’t want to do two jobs in parallel, given that working in cinema is more familiar to me. Working as an artistic director of a theater is a “new university” in my life. You have to study a lot, meet people, and master new subjects by leaps and bounds: management, planning. They don’t teach this at the acting department of a theater institute. Khabensky has high hopes for next year.
– Now there is a “clearance”. Starting from the new calendar year, I will slowly return to big cinema. Before this, I could star in a children’s film, but it was three, maximum five days of shooting. Now I can afford to spend more time on the site, because the Moscow Art Theater has assembled a team that I trust.
“I spend 350 days a year in the theater,” Khabensky admitted a little later, answering another question from a young journalist from a children’s television school.
“I haven’t acted anywhere for a year and a half,” this confession of the Russian film star was also made at the press conference. Khabensky assured that at this stage his own performance on stage, reviewing the repertoire and the leadership of the Moscow Art Theater take up all his time.
