The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) granted the application of the company from Kazakhstan “M Holding” for the acquisition of the shopping center “Metropolis” on the Leningrad highway in Moscow from the American fund Morgan Stanley. This is reported in Telegram departments.

The FAS press service said that, according to the agency, the deal will not affect the state of competition in the commercial real estate rental market.

Morgan Stanley informed on the acquisition of Metropolis in 2013, calling the deal “the largest in the history of the Russian commercial real estate market.” The facility was sold for $1.2 billion.

The Metropolis shopping center was opened in 2009 and became the second Morgan Stanley premium facility in Russia. In 2011, the investment fund bought the Galeria shopping center in St. Petersburg from Meridian Capital for $1.1 billion. With these assets, Morgan Stanley ranked 26th in the Forbes Kings of Russian Real Estate 2022 rating. Rental income from space at the two sites in 2021 was estimated at $65 million.
