Kazakhstan received permission to supply oil to Germany through Transneft

The Kazakh operator KazTransOil will supply 300,000 tons of oil to Germany in the first quarter of 2023 through Transneft’s oil pipeline systems. The relevant permit was issued by the Ministry of Energy of Russia, the press service of KazTransOil reported.
“KazTransOil JSC received confirmation from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for the transportation in the first quarter of 2023 of 300 thousand tons of Kazakh oil through the system of main oil pipelines of Transneft PJSC in the direction of the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany,” it said in message companies.
The company added that the supply of 300 thousand tons of oil is in the schedule for the transit of oil from the CIS member states through the territory of Russia.
German authorities spokethat in 2023 they will import raw materials from Kazakhstan through the Druzhba oil pipeline. In turn, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov reported that in 2023 Kazakhstan was going to supply 1.5 million tons to Germany, in the future the volume of deliveries could increase to 7 million tons. In total, according to Kommersant’s estimates, Kazakhstan is able to supply Germany with no more than 3–7 million tons instead of 19–20 million that Russia supplied annually.
December 29, Kazakhstan’s Kazmunaigas filed application for the transit of 1.2 million tons of oil in 2023 through Russia. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia is ready to approve Kazakhstan’s request. KazMunayGas explained that oil from Kazakhstan to Germany would be delivered to an oil refinery in the city of Schwedt. Until September, it was controlled by Rosneft, then it was transferred under the control of the Federal Network Agency of Germany. The refinery’s capacity is 11.6 million tons of oil products per year.
