Kazakh bank Freedom Finance has stopped money transfers from Mir cards

The Kazakh bank Freedom Finance has banned money transfers with cards of the Russian payment system Mir. On February 23, the United States imposed sanctions against the National Payment Card System (NSCP), the Mir operator.

“P2P (from person to person.— “Ъ”) transfers to Freedom Banker (bank app.— “Ъ”) from/to the Mir card are no longer available,” the bank’s support said Frank Media. The bank suggested using other transfer methods. SWIFT transfers, transfers from foreign Visa and Mastercard cards, and transfers by phone number through Tsifra Bank remain available for sending funds.

On February 23, the United States introduced new anti-Russian sanctions, including against the NSPK. In company statedthat the sanctions will not affect the work of payment services within the country, and on the side of the payment system there are no restrictions on working with foreign partners. In turn, foreign banks make decisions on accepting Mir cards on their own.
