Kaspersky Lab has entered into an OEM agreement with the Chinese manufacturer of thin clients and tablets Centerm for the right to install its software on its devices – Kaspersky Thin Client based on KasperskyOS. And Centerm will be able to distribute ready-made hardware and software systems through regional partners and distributors. Thin clients are devices in a company’s infrastructure that transfer the processing of large amounts of data to the server.
According to Kaspersky Lab, by the end of 2023, more than 5 million thin clients will be sold worldwide, worth approximately $1.5 billion, and sales volumes of solutions for organizing virtual desktops (VDI/DaaS) will reach $2.6 billion. In Russia in 2023, the corresponding markets will amount to at least 3 billion rubles. According to IDC, the thin client market will maintain a CAGR of around 6% during 2021-2026.
The vendor believes that Kaspersky Thin Client is effective for use in organizations from any industry with a large branch network and geographically distributed structure. In particular, these are the public sector, commercial companies, industrial and logistics enterprises. The first agreement on joint testing of Kaspersky Lab solutions on Centerm devices was concluded by the companies in November last year. Also last year, the company reported that it had invested $17 million in secure KasperskyOS.
