The Kalashnikov Concern will soon open two new workshops, which will more than double the production of Vikhr guided missiles and Kitol precision-guided munitions. About it informs the company’s press office.
“In the near future, two large workshops will be put into operation, which will more than double the production of high-precision munitions,” the report says.
We are talking about 9M33 anti-aircraft guided missiles, Vikhr-1 guided aircraft missiles and Kitolov-2M projectiles.
New sites for the production of high-precision products provide for the creation of 700 additional jobs by the end of the year. In particular, heat treatment areas, tool, assembly, mechanical and auxiliary administrative and amenity premises will be formed.
It is emphasized that all existing production continues to function smoothly and fully fulfills the state defense order.
The Vikhr guided air missile is used in the special operation zone. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regularly reports on the destruction of enemy equipment with the help of such shells. The missile is designed to destroy ground maneuverable armored vehicles, as well as air targets, including helicopters, attack aircraft and drones.
“Kitolov-2M” is designed for strikes against armored and unarmored targets. Its caliber is 122 mm, and the firing range is 12 km. SAM 9M333 is designed for the Strela-10M3 air defense system. The missile can hit targets at a distance of up to 5 km, while the target speed can reach 679 m / s, and the flight altitude is from 10 to 3500 m.
