Johnny Depp’s daughter, actress and model Lily-Rose Depp has responded to criticism of the abundance of nude scenes in the new HBO series Idol.
“My character is always trying to say something or express herself in some way,” Depp explained, quoted by the Daily Mail. “Naked body is associated with emotional nudity.”
She considers her character Jocelyn a real performer, and her sexuality is reflected in all areas of the character’s life. The Franco-American actress, now 23, doesn’t find too many explicit scenes on the show.
According to the plot of “The Idol”, a young pop star played by Lily-Rose Depp begins a romantic relationship with the owner of a nightclub and a member of a secret cult in Los Angeles.
