The manufacturer of Japanese engines and equipment Yanmar Holdings announced the termination of activities in Russia, reported in the press office of the company.
“Since March 2022, our company has stopped operations in Russia with a few exceptions, but due to the fact that the prospects for the Russian market are still opaque, we have decided to completely stop doing business in Russia. Upon completion of the procedures, approximately from April this year, the business of the legal entity Yanmar Rus LLC will be terminated.
The press service added that this decision was made due to the “protracted nature” of the situation with the continuation of business in the country, despite the fact that the Japanese manufacturer was exploring the possibility of starting work.
The Japanese company Yanmar appeared in Osaka in 1912. The company developed the world’s first small diesel engine in 1933, which was used in practice. Now the company operates in about 30 countries around the world.
The Russian subsidiary Yanmar RUS appeared in 2014 and was engaged in the sale of pumps, welding machines, generators and spare parts. After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Yanmar RUS suspended work in Russia, but the company also continued to receive and serve customers.
