Ivi fined 1 million rubles for LGBT demonstration – Kommersant

The Ostankino Court of Moscow fined the Ivi online cinema for 1 million rubles. for demonstrating LGBT relations (part 2, article 6.21.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The theater representative said Telegram channel “Caution, the news” that the marking was corrected back in April – when Roskomnadzor claims appeared against the film. The cinema noted that this was not about “propaganda”, but about the incorrect age marking of the film.
Earlier, for the lack of age marking in the same picture, Start and Premier cinemas were fined 3.7 million and 4 million rubles. respectively. The labeling situation at the Start cinema was explained as follows: “The picture ”Perfect Strangers” is an Italian film that was licensed by our service. Marking ”16+”, originally recorded in the rental certificate issued by the Ministry of Culture, has been changed on the platform, the project has long been available on START with the sign ”18+”. At the moment, the criteria for age marking of content and the definition of the concept of ”LGBT demonstration” are not fully formulated in legislation and regulations, which greatly complicates the work of online cinemas.
Roskomnadzor issued a total of 32 protocols to online cinemas due to the distribution of LGBT demonstration films without the “18+” marking. Currently, fines have been imposed on the following cinemas: Tricolor Kino and TV Online (NAO National Satellite Company) – 1 million rubles; Peers.TV (LLC “Inetra”) – 1 million rubles; Premier (LLC “Premier”) – 4 million rubles; MegaFon TV (PJSC MegaFon) – 1 million rubles; Start (LLC “Start”) – 3.7 million rubles; Kinopoisk (LLC Kinopoisk) – 1 million rubles. Administrative protocols have also been drawn up for Wink, Okko, Movix, More.tv, Ivi, Beeline TV services.
