The new Wildberries distribution center in St. Petersburg is planned to open within two to three weeks. About this in an interview with the TV channel “Russia 24” stated Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov. According to him, the warehouse in Shushary did not pass all the necessary acceptance procedures.
“What we know about this Wildberries center is that it is strange that it worked, but, as I understand it, it was not yet accepted and did not go through all the necessary procedures… I think that there will be further separate proceedings on this matter,” quotes him TASS.
According to Mr. Evtukhov, Wildberries has already paid compensation to more than 50%, or about 160 thousand, entrepreneurs. We are currently continuing to work with customers whose orders were lost due to the fire.
The warehouse caught fire on January 13. After the fire, Gosstroynadzor stated that the Wildberries warehouse in St. Petersburg operated illegally and did not have an application for commissioning. The company’s press service denied this and said that the warehouse received a conclusion on compliance with city planning regulations and safety requirements.
We would like to remind you that it became known earlier that the organization for the protection of consumer rights “Public Consumer Initiative” appealed to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation with a request to conduct comprehensive unscheduled inspections of all Wildberries and Ozon warehouses throughout the country.
