Israel will invest $3.2 billion in a new Intel plant – Kommersant

Israeli authorities invest $3.2 billion for the construction of an Intel plant in the south of the country. The Israeli Ministry of Finance has already stated that this is Israel’s largest single investment in Intel. The new plant is being built on the basis of the company’s existing enterprises in the city of Kiryat Gat, the total volume of private and public investment in the project is $25 billion.
How note Israeli media, the first investments in the construction of the plant were announced back in 2019 – then the amount was $10 billion. The $3.2 billion grant announced today will be provided to Intel for several years. Intel’s new plant in Israel is expected to begin production in four to five years. The plant will use the deep ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) process, one of the most advanced in microprocessor manufacturing. The equipment for the Intel plant will be supplied by the Dutch company ASML, which is the world market leader in the EUVL segment.
After reports of large Israeli investments in the construction of an Intel plant, shares of the American company rose in price by 3.6%.
