Russian advertising and marketing associations, together with an association of specialized lawyers, are asking deputies to mitigate liability for violating the rules for labeling online advertising, as well as to postpone the imminent introduction of sanctions until at least 2024. The regulation of online advertising labeling, introduced on September 1 last year, now mainly exists in the form of informal recommendations from Roskomnadzor, and it would be premature to introduce a harsh system of fines in such a situation, market participants believe. Roskomnadzor considers the size of the discussed fines to be adequate.
