The draft law provides for the extension of the deposit insurance system to medium-sized enterprises included in the relevant register, with the exception of entities that are credit institutions and non-bank financial institutions; socially oriented non-profit organizations, as well as trade unions (trade union organizations). According to the Federal Tax Service, there are currently 17.4 thousand medium-sized enterprises. The inclusion of trade unions will add about 13 thousand more entities to the number of depositors whose deposits in banks are subject to insurance. If the categories of depositors proposed by the draft law are included in the deposit insurance perimeter, the additional costs of banks for contributions to the mandatory deposit insurance fund will be about 1.1 billion rubles. The volume of insurance liability of the Deposit Insurance Agency will increase by 58 billion rubles.
