During the week from July 31 to August 6, against the background of the heat in some regions of Russia, sales of climate equipment increased sharply. This was told to Vedomosti by a representative of the press service of the M-Video chain of stores.
The increase in sales compared to the previous week ranged from 20 to 60%, depending on the type of device. According to the interlocutor, fans and mobile air conditioners showed the highest demand dynamics. Split-systems have traditionally accounted for the largest volume of sales, he added.
In a conversation with Vedomosti, Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline-analytics, confirmed an increase in demand for climate control equipment. He explained that this is due to temperature records in many regions, the growth of consumer lending and the weakening of the ruble.
Last week, the heat came to the northwestern, southern regions of Russia, as well as to Transbaikalia and the North Caucasus, weather forecasters reported. In particular, 30-degree heat predicted in the Arkhangelsk region, Komi, on Sakhalin, in the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous regions, as well as in certain areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
By the middle of the week, high temperatures were established in the Krasnodar Territory and the Astrakhan Region. August 6 was also the warmest day for Moscow since the beginning of summer. The air temperature exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. Scientific Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand informedthat it will noticeably get colder in Moscow on August 11.
