The departure of foreign manufacturers from unfriendly countries provoked a shortage of cassette bearings in Russia for innovative freight cars (with an increased load of 25 tons per axle), rolling stock operators and car builders told Vedomosti. The innovative gondola car allows you to load 8 tons more than the standard one – 75 tons against 67–68 tons.
The main manufacturers of cassette bearings in Russia were the Swedish SKF, as well as Timken and Amsted Rail from the USA. They left the Russian market shortly after the start of the NWO in Ukraine. The largest operators of innovation cars are the National Transport Company (NTK) and Modum-trans.
